I am excited to share that Serendipity Design Inspo was recently featured in a Redfin article, β1970s Interior Design Ideas Youβll Want in Your Home Todayβ. In my enthusiasm to contribute, I accidentally replied with my Gilchrist & Company Real Estate signatureβjust a little reminder that sometimes my worlds overlap in unexpected ways:). Regardless, Iβm honored to be included and always happy to share a bit of design joy alongside my real estate work.
I have a sentimental Ralph Lauren lamp thatβs been with my girls through college moves and memories. Now, its worn shade needed a refresh. Since finding a replacement proved tricky, I decided to DIY a pleated lampshade. Itβs the perfect chance to breathe new life into this super cute piece. Read on to see the before picture and step by step guide!
When it comes to decorating your home, it's often the small details that make the biggest impact. These personal touches not only reflect your personality but also create a sense of warmth and character that makes your space truly unique. Here are some ways to incorporate these details into your home decor:
Inspired by the timeless charm of textured pottery and terra cotta pieces from West Elm and Pottery Barn, I decided to create my own version using a few supplies I already had on hand. This modern black jug, a budget-friendly Marketplace find, had the perfect size and shape but needed a little makeover to better suit my style. With minimal materials and a bit of creativity, I transformed it into a beautiful neutral piece with a textured finish that adds warmth and character to any space. Hereβs how you can achieve this look in just a few simple steps!
Breathing new life into tired spaces is always an exciting challenge. Our recent project on West Park Drive focused on updating the four bathrooms while preserving the home's original character and Mid-Century Modern (MCM) charm.
