Wednesday on West Park Drive: The Exterior Makeover Continues!

It’s another exciting Wednesday on West Park Drive, and the transformation of this home’s exterior is in full swing! With the mason finishing up the new brick installation, the wood trim repaired and updated, and the pretty new front door in place, it was time to tackle the true showstoppers: black-frame windows and a fresh coat of paint for the entire brick exterior. But, as with any renovation, there’s always a twist.

The Window Saga: A Lesson in Patience
Quick sidenote—when the interior painting began, we told the painters not to bother taping off the windows since they were due to be replaced soon. No need to waste time, right? . . . Well, what we didn’t know was that our new windows would be delayed by six weeks. 😬 Fast forward to our other house selling faster than anticipated, and suddenly we were moving into West Park Drive… with taped-up windows that made our home look like, well, something out of a crime drama. Let’s just say I wasn’t exactly thrilled with the temporary “drug house chic” vibe. Thankfully, the new windows eventually arrived and were installed, instantly elevating the entire look of the house. Crisis averted!

The Great Paint Debate
With the windows finally in place, it was time for one of my favorite part of any makeover—choosing the paint color! I knew I wanted a light color for the brick exterior but not too white. Natural sunlight can do tricky things with undertones, often pulling out yellows or other unexpected hues. After much deliberation (and lots of paint swatches), I landed on a clean off-white with no warm undertones. (See my final three selections below: 1. SW Greek Villa, 2. BM Swiss Coffee, 3. BM China White.) In the end, the color selection turned out just right in my mind—crisp, timeless, and perfect, just as I had hoped!

Cedar Details for the Win
To tie everything together, we replaced the existing wood trim with beautiful cedar and treated it with the same stain as the front door trim for a seamless look. The natural warmth of the cedar paired with the clean lines of the black-frame windows created a stunning contrast against the freshly painted brick. These updates completely transformed the home’s curb appeal—it feels fresh, modern, and welcoming all at once.

What’s Next?
This phase of the exterior makeover has been such a rewarding journey (even with its hiccups), but we’re not done yet! Next up: landscaping! I can’t wait to share how we’ll bring even more life to West Park Drive with greenery and outdoor charm. Stay tuned for another Wednesday update!

What do you think of this transformation so far?

Can you guess what exterior paint color I selected? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear your thoughts! 🌿✨
