Transforming Spaces: A Journey of Renewal at West Park Drive
It's Wednesday on West Park Drive and our front exterior transformation continues to unfold, breathing new life into this groovy home. With the dated rocks removed and brickwork complete, it's time to focus on the wood trim surrounding the front door and windows.
Preserving the home's character while updating its style, we've taken a thoughtful approach. The existing wood, still in good condition, remains largely intact. However, the dated paneling above the front door called for a refresh. Our skilled carpenters expertly matched the new paneling to the existing frames, creating a cohesive and cost-effective solution with strong impact.
The true showstopper? Larger windows and an inviting 8-foot mahogany wood door. These additions beautifully balance the tall front wall, while flooding the interior entry with natural light. The decision to replace every window in the house has yielded remarkable benefits, reducing street noise and improving insulation against the Texas heat.
In honoring the home's mid-century modern roots, we carefully considered the tall windows' wood trim paneling. Ultimately, we chose to maintain the original aesthetic, replacing the boards with cedar to complement the front column and the natural-stained mahogany door. This small detail does more than just update the look - it respects the home's original character while giving it a fresh, modern breath of life. It's like finding the perfect balance between honoring the past and embracing the present.
Join us on this inspiring journey of home transformation, where every decision is made with care, respect for the past, and excitement for the future. At West Park Drive, we're not just renovating a house – we're crafting a home that tells our story.
