Exterior Updates One Boulder at a Time
It’s Wednesday at West Park Drive and welcome to my latest adventure in home transformation! Today, we're diving into the world of exterior makeovers here and goodness, this one needs it! Get ready, because this ugly duckling is about to spread its wings and soar!
Unexpected Challenges to Happy Results
The summer of 2019 was full of demolition opportunities at West Park Drive and our family learned that home renovation isn't for the faint of heart. Updating this 1970 gem was an ambitious project. This home transformation tested our grit, strengthened our bonds, and ultimately (I think) created something we are proud of!

The Boulder, The Better?!
Our groovy house built in the 1970’s, was divided into tiny living areas walled off from one another. The small dining room was encased in walls from the entry and the kitchen. The kitchen was divided by a wall to the living room. Additionally, the living room flooring was dual level and the ceiling was so low it felt like it would close in on you. But the most unsightly feature was a giant floor-to-ceiling chimney covered in monstrous boulders.

Porch Refresh with Brick Pavers
Our small front porch step is desperately in need of an update. Typically I cover it up with a layered rug and coir mat, but I wanted something a little more permanent. To solve this dilemma, I decided to use some pavers I had on hand to transform our front porch step into something inviting, filled with character.
