Seagrass Stool Makeover

Preparation

  1. Uncover the Stool

    • Remove the existing seagrass cover

    • Turn the stool upside down

    • Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the 4 screws holding the padded covering

  2. Create Your Workspace

    • Choose a well-ventilated area

    • Lay down a plastic dropcloth to protect your work surface

Painting Process

  1. Prime the Stool

    • Apply spray primer evenly across the entire stool base

    • Ensure thorough coverage

    • Allow primer to dry completely

  2. Apply Spray Paint

    • Select your desired spray paint color

    • Apply thin, even coats

    • Allow each coat to dry before applying the next

    • Paint the top with two coats

    • Flip the stool and paint the underneath, covering all corners and crevices

  3. Finishing Touches

    • Let the stool dry for 24 hours

    • If paint runs occur, wait until dry

    • Smooth any imperfections with fine sandpaper

    • Wipe clean with a cloth

    • Touch up painted areas if needed

  4. Reassemble

    • Reposition the cushion

    • Securely screw the cushion back in place

    • Fit the seagrass cover over the cushion
